Domaine de Canaille is one of the most prestigious private villas on the French Riviera. Located in the charming village of Cassis, just outside of Marseille, the property boasts stunning sea views and vast grounds of over 150 acres.
Originally built as a hotel, the property was expertly renovated, turning it into a spacious villa sleeping 24 guests total in comfort and style. The villa enjoys an exclusive location surrounded by trees for privacy and overlooking the Mediterranean.
Guests can take the private beach path down to the water, just five minutes’ walk away, or enjoy a dip in the large, heated swimming pool before soaking up the sun from the surrounding sun loungers. Within the estate’s grounds, there is also a petanque pitch for a friendly game and an orangery, ideal for romantic strolls.
There are plenty of outdoor spaces for relaxing and dining throughout the grounds. A vast terrace of 500 square metres is ideal for soaking up the sunshine or hosting outdoor events with a stunning sea background. For quieter moments, the hammock provides the perfect space for catching up on a holiday read. Al fresco meals can be enjoyed at the outdoor dining table on the terrace, where additional seating can be set up for events.
Indoors, there are four reception rooms along with a home cinema room where films can be enjoyed on the large HD screen. A fireplace is perfect for cooler evenings and there is a home office for those who need to catch up on some work during their stay. Gourmet feasts are prepared by the in-house chef, to be enjoyed in the elegant and modern dining room.
Throughout the main villa are nine well-appointed bedrooms, most with en-suite or private facilities; the master suite also boasts an office space and two large, private terraces. Those travelling with children can make use of the mezzanine living area, which can be converted into a dormitory bedroom.
Perfect for those seeking a little more privacy, or perhaps travelling with staff members, there is a guest house with two twin bedrooms included; an additional twin bedroom with kitchenette, en-suite bathroom and terrace is also available on request.
The spacious property is perfect for special events from private parties to weddings with up to 110 guests. The villa’s owner also hosts wellness stays on-site several times a year.

Domaine de Canaille is an absolute dream! The sea views are breathtaking, and the private beach path is a game-changer. The heated pool was perfect for morning dips, and the outdoor dining area made every meal feel special. The villa’s spacious layout was ideal for our large group, offering both privacy and communal spaces. A true gem on the French Riviera!

This property exceeded all expectations. The grounds are massive and impeccably maintained, with the orangery and petanque pitch adding unique charm. The master suite’s private terraces were my favorite spot for coffee at sunrise. The staff, especially the chef, made our stay unforgettable. Perfect for weddings or large family gatherings.

A luxurious escape with everything you could ask for. The home cinema room was a hit with the kids, and the adults loved the elegant dining room. Proximity to Cassis and Marseille made exploring easy, but we often found ourselves reluctant to leave the villa’s serene grounds. Highly recommend!

An exceptional property for a large group. The villa’s layout is thoughtfully designed, with plenty of common areas and private nooks. The chef-prepared meals were a highlight—every dish was exquisite. The private beach access and stunning terraces made this a vacation we’ll never forget.
