The property sits on almost three acres of perfectly-manicured gardens and lawns. Upon entering the grounds, rows of cypress trees and tall hedges frame the villa, with the green mountains behind creating the perfect backdrop.
In addition, there is a stunning rose garden, an organic vegetable garden, a large ornamental pool, pergolas draped in wisteria and jasmine, and a range of impressive mature trees dotted throughout. Charming statues and water features are secreted across the expansive gardens, adding character and charm to the different areas.
Guests can enjoy a refreshing dip in the outdoor pool or take a boat trip on the lake directly from the villa’s private pier. Moreover, there are plenty of areas to enjoy al fresco living and dining or host intimate outdoor events.
The villa itself has a long history. It was once the home of Cardinal Durini, a well-known collector of art, whilst, in the 18th century, the residence hosted banquets, dances, concerts, and literary discussions.
Many original architectural features remain, with the interior details restored to their former glory. Throughout the villa are marble floors, 17th-century Baroque frescoes, period furniture, crystal chandeliers, and beautiful antiques to admire.
On the ground floor, a series of interconnected living rooms, a grand lobby, and a sun-filled winter garden with lake views offer plenty of spaces to relax and entertain. The elegant dining room with a 17th-century feel is perfect for dinner parties. Plus, for true relaxation, guests can enjoy a luxurious indoor pool.
Accessible via a stunning marble staircase, the first floor features another opulent lobby with a grand piano and plush furnishings. The lobby leads onto a large gallery, where light floods in through floor-to-ceiling windows, offering spectacular lake views.
Six luxuriously-appointed bedrooms sit over the first and second floors. All bedrooms boast king-size beds and en-suite marble bathrooms, while the impressive master suite also features a private study, a dressing room, and an expansive private terrace.
